Roly Poly on Capital Circle NE is set back from the street located in a building that houses a Wolff Tan. If you are not sure of where you are going it is very easy to drive past the restaurant, but for those familiar with the area it is across from Lowes next to Tire Kingdom.
Upon entering the difference between this location and the one I visited earlier on Tennessee Street are stark. Instead of being a bit dingy the inside was brightly painted yellow and moss green. It felt like a modern cafe as compared to the converted family restaurant that houses the other store.
The restaurant takes up the front portion of the building and tables line the windows facing the parking lot. A second eating area is located in the back. To the left is the counter that was staffed by two friendly employees. Despite arriving during the lunch rush they handled the orders quickly with a smile. The girl who took my order was very pleasant, and put up with my indecision as I looked over the gigantic menu that stood over the cash registers.
While waiting for my wrap I grabbed a sweet tea and sat at a small table near the window to check-in on Foursquare. I figured there would be at least a 10 minute wait for my sandwich, but I was wrong. No sooner had I sat down I heard my name called. The kitchen at this location has their act together and I was impressed with how quickly my ordered was filled.
I got back to my office and unwrapped my Buffalo Chicken Melt. A large grilled flour tortilla was filled with sliced chicken breast, melted cheddar cheese, plum tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and spicy wing sauce. It was accompanied by a side of ranch dressing. The wrap had a good ratio of meat to cheese to buffalo wing sauce. The vegetables were fresh and it was a very tasty wrap with slight spice of the sauce combing with the cheddar and chicken. As a person who enjoys heat it could have been spicier. However, I assume I am in the minority (i.e. people who like to sweat profusely while eating buffalo wings ) and recognize the sauce they used will be fine with the vast majority of people. Overall this was a very good wrap.
The only similarity between the Capital Circle and Tennessee Street Roly Poly shops are their names as the former has a better atmosphere, better service and is much cleaner. I would go back to this Roly Poly the next time I am in the mood for a unique sandwich and look forward to trying another wrap from their extensive menu.
