I love dives. There is something about going to a slightly shady place and getting good unpretentious food that brings a smile to my face. Recently I got a text from my friend Bill who told me I needed to check out Woodchuck’s Café on Tallahassee’s Westside. He raved about the burger and sealed the deal by noting the restaurant was attached to a gas station.
This past week I set off to see where Woodchuck’s stacked up in the hotly contested Battle of the Burgers. Woodchuck’s is located at 2520 W. Tharpe Street in the Sunoco gas station. To say Woodchuck’s is eye catching would be an understatement. The restaurant is pained eye popping neon green, baby blue and deep blue with a hot pink stripe. A bright yellow sign with black letters displays the café’s name. I appreciated the bright colors and the way it stood out from the gray parking lot. This looks amazing. Guess I’ll be rearranging my weekend……
It was really good Windy, and you should pay them a visit. I am happy Woodchuck’s is far from my office or else I’d needed expandable pants. 🙂
Told you it was the best in town buddy! 🙂
You were right Bill! I know who I’ll be voting for in the 2013 TFBA Awards.
