As the minutes ticked by at my desk my thoughts turned to lunch. Sometimes you are in the mood for a good sandwich, and today was one of those days. I decided to pay the Eastwood Café a visit for lunch and Joe decided to go along for the ride to see how their sandwiches stacked up.
The café sits in a low brick building that faces Riggins Road. A large white and blue sign with a stylized sunflower marked its location and ample parking was provided by a lot which the café shares with a variety of nearby businesses. We arrived a few minutes before the lunch rush and were greeted by a spotless restaurant and a smiling staff. A large menu board announced the daily specials and also held menus. Eastwood offers a variety of salads, and sandwiches along with soups, quiches, and pastas of the day. They emphasis healthy ingredients and meals served fast for those who want to spend their lunch break eating, rather than waiting. I have an image of what I would describe as “ladies who lunch” but am wondering what you are seeing or considering as “ladies who lunch.” My workplace has a casual dress code (even calling it a code seems too strict), due to our type of work. So I wonder if I went out to lunch with some of my female coworkers, would we be mistaken for “ladies who lunch” instead of working women on a lunch break?
“Ladies who lunch” to me means stay at home moms with no kids who play tennis in the morning and then go out to eat in yoga pants. 🙂
I have been meaning to make my way to Eastwood Cafe for lunch- I read your full review on Tallahassee.com. This cafe definitely deserves a try-
