Kids love chicken fingers and there is no shortage of spots to grab a box of the fried delights in the Capital City. On a drizzly Saturday with the start of FSU’s baseball game pushed back an around we made our way on W. Tennessee Street looking for a place to eat a pre-game lunch. Mason spotted Guthrie’s and asked if we could stop there for lunch. I was curious to see what changed following the restaurant’s update and agreed to his suggestion.
After undergoing a thorough renovation Guthrie’s is once again open for business. The largest change is the way the restaurant looks both inside and out. Making our way inside we were greeted by bold gray stripes on the rear wall while a second was painted bright red. Booths are laid out in long rows and a line of hungry patrons stretched back from the cash register.
When it was our turn to order I asked for a Gut Box, two snack boxes, and drinks including a cup of their sweet tea. Julia and Mason claimed a booth and together we waited for our lunches while talking about the upcoming Seminoles baseball game, Voltron, and what the world would be like if everything was the same color.
