Real Sarap recently opened for business at 435 W. Tennessee Street. The restaurant dishes up Filipino home-style cooking, and after a morning of legal wrangling, I called Kirsten, who happily agreed to join me on my latest food adventure in the downtown Tallahassee.
Parking was a breeze and we made our way inside. We had no idea what to order and approached the counter with indecisive looks on our faces. A menu board, above the smiling face of the employee behind the cash register, listed a slew of unknown dishes. I asked what we should try, and the woman suggested the Combo Real for $8.99, which provided a taste of multiple items, and would serve as a good introduction to Filipino food.
