There are a couple of food items I could eat on a daily basis, and still never become bored or tired of them. One of those items is pizza, and when my friend Thomas suggested we meet up for lunch, we decided to visit Northside Pies. The restaurant is located in Tallahassee at 1355 Market Street in the same plaza that is also home to a Mexican restaurant and a sub shop.
I arrived after Thomas, who had already been seated at one of the booths that lined the left side of the restaurant. Colorful walls provided brightness to the space. A bar area was located towards the rear, and a collection of round and high top tables provided seating. ESPN highlights flashed on a television behind the bar.
Our waitress appeared with glasses of water and asked if we had a chance to look over the menu. Northside Pies carries over some of the same pizzas from its companion stores (MidTown Pies) along with some additional creations. Our waitress was helpful with identifying the pies specifically created for the northside of Tallahassee, and after weighing our options, we selected the Derek Sanders, which is a Fancy Vegetarian, along with Greek salads. Sounds delicious, but have you been to Dave’s Pizza Garage on Monroe Street. It is life changing. Make sure you order the nubbies.
I have! I really like Dave’s. It is different than a lot of other places in town. I like his buffalo chicken pie.
