Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza promised a blazing hot oven capable of cooking perfectly crisp pizzas in 180 seconds. Curious to see if Blaze could live up to the hype we headed over to the 220 S. Magnolia Street location with Marlene and the kids in tow.

Entering the new restaurant we were corralled towards the back where Blaze employees were ready to unleash lickety-split pizza magic. Blaze offers nine pies with pre-selected toppings including the Meat Eater (if it’s meat, it’s on this pizza), the Veg Out (for the herbivores), and BBQ Chicken. Those more adventurous souls can create their own pizza choosing from a variety of crusts, sauces, meats, and veggies.  Costs range from a high of $7.95 for the choose your own toppings pizza to a low of $5.00 for the simple pie (mozzarella, parmesan and red sauce).

Kirsten and I decided to be trailblazers and create our own pie called the “Bonfanti”.  We opted for the regular white crust topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, salame, red onions, roasted garlic, spinach, zucchini, green peppers, black olives and banana peppers. Mason and Julia, who have become pepperoni pizza connoisseurs, opted for their favorite while my mother-in-law ordered the Art Lover with the gluten free crust.  Once each pie was completed and paid for we were handed a number to keep track of our order.
