On Monday I was caught in Delta’s worldwide system meltdown. I got on a plane, off a plane, and never left the airport. With my itinerary in tatters, I met Kirsten at Island Wings Grill & Bar on Market Street for dinner.
Island Wings boasts their kitchen does not have a fryer, resulting in all food, even french fries, being baked. We worked our way through the large menu that offered salads, sandwiches, mac & cheese, and of course wings. For those looking for a cold one, Island Wings offers 85 beers on tap.
We started things off with an order of chili cheese fries, curious as to how a baked fry would stack up against the common fried version. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and delicious was the answer. A generous helping of chili with large chunks of hamburger and creamy cheese completed the dish. A cardiologist’s nightmare, it was delicious. For more on Island Wings read the full review on Tallahassee.com.
